Objective

  1. To recognize and improve the professional status of childcare providers.
  1. To advance the education and training of registered childcare providers by organizing lectures,seminars, workshop, exhibition and demonstrations in order to update, streamline and render more effective the organisational and administrative capabilities of such personnel.
  1. to establish a resource centre, to promote the minimal standard and further upgrading of child care in all child care centres in the urban, rural and plantation sectors in accordance with the Child Care Centre Act 1984, and to provide meeting places for the members of the Association, to enable them to exchange views on the work and objectives of the Association.
  1. to collaborate with individuals or agencies on research pertaining to child development especially child rearing practices of the different ethnic groups.
  1. to undertake the publication and the dissemination of a journal/newsletter and other materials bearing information, opinions, suggestions and research findings in the field of Child Care and Child Development subject to the prior approval of appropriate authority.
  1. to advise parents and the public who seek help and information on child care services.
  1. to maintain close liason between the Association and the Ministry of Welfare Services and to make representations to the Government on matters relating to the registration, licensing and operation of child minding services.
  1. to make representations to the Government in order to provide evidence and recommendations to assist in forming public opinion on all matters concerning child care and early childhood development.
  1. to serve as a co-ordinating body between the Association and Enforcement Agencies, Private, Voluntary and Statutory bodies responsible for child care and Bodies responsible for the provision of this service.
  1. to obtain, collect and receive monies and funds by way of contributions, donations, subscriptions, legacies, grants, covenants or any other lawful method and to accept and receive gifts of property of any description(whether subject to any trusts or not) for or towards the above purposes, provided that the Association shall not undertake any permanent trading activities in any manner in the raising of funds for its primary object.
  1. to utilise all income for and in the promotion of the aims and objects of the Association.
  1. to affiliate with other bodies nationally, regionally and internationally which have as their main objective, matters or services pertaining to child care and early childhood education.
